When you are going to a big interview normally you are thinking about what to answer not what to ask. The reality is, if you ask the right questions it can help you in your job, look smarter and more confident, and help you decide if the job is right for you. We put together five quality questions that will work with any job and are short enough to not take away from the time required by the interviewer.
1. How has this position changed? By asking this important question if will give you insight on the path they are looking for in the position you are applying for.
2. What did the person before do to be successful in this position? By asking this you are letting the interviewer know that you have focus and and want to do what is needed for the team.
3. What is the most important part of the job? This is so important, this question will help you drastically if you get the job. Knowing your top priority will keep you in good trust with your bosses.
4. What are some of the challenges this position faces? This might be hard for the interviewer to answer, if they do answer it will give you insight on what mistakes has been made by previous employees in this position.
5. What are some of the qualities of the managers here? This is only if you are applying for a managers position. By knowing what has been recognized with the other managers you set your focus on the direct path to success.
There is more questions of course but you don’t want to over shadow the questions from the interviewer or waste their time. These questions can spark more questions and conversations so keep in open mind and relax when asking. There is plenty of time for five questions, even if they turn into conversations.
