Online Marketing

Online marketing has so many meanings now-a-days in 2016-17. What once was as simple as getting ranked high by top search engines has now taken on several avenues for success. Still to this day SEO is the king of online marketing, but without the other methods it will be hard to rank high.

For example, if you do not have a social networking presence Google might not consider you a key player and go a little harder on your ability to make the first page of your search terms.

Also the latest factor for SEO and Internet marketing is video. Don’t get me wrong, video has been a key part of SEO and web marketing but now with YouTube almost passing in website hits, Google has raised the importance of having popular videos with their SEO ranks. Google has also decided to add a video on the first page of almost every popular term. This is a great way to sneak into that first page without all the other methods needed to SEO a website. A good video that goes viral can jump ahead of huge websites that are locked on the first page for years. No SEO needed!

To understand Internet marketing it’s best to start with the basics. Here is the definition:

Internet marketing, or online marketing, refers to advertising and marketing efforts that use the Web and email to drive direct sales via electronic commerce, in addition to sales leads from Web sites or emails. Internet marketing and online advertising efforts are typically used in conjunction with traditional types of advertising such as radio, television, newspapers and magazines.

What’s most important when learning about Internet marketing is to see it as another tool, just like TV, radio, or a newspaper. All major marketing tools have their own advantages and disadvantages. And within each category there is more variables.

TV, radio, or a newspaper is great if you have a high budget. There is no games to be on the same level as everyone else. You just need money for the advertising fees.

If you have a lower budget or want to implement SEO than you have to play the game. A great optionĀ is to hire a professional like Ege Marketing.

Outsourcing can save you months of learning and in some cases they will have tools and knowledge you can’t find publicly.

With that said, learning SEO can be a great long term tool you can use on your resume and for just about any business. To take this on yourself I would start with Google and simply search for “SEO” and start reading. Then read some more. Try not to get sucked into quick fixes, SEO is a marathon not a sprint, and trying to cut corners can get your site penalizedĀ or even banned.

There is also a hybrid Internet marketing method this is like traditional offline marketing methods. This is called banner ads. For a set fee almost any site will show a banner of your site to get you instant traffic and exposure. This will not help your SEO long term because it will be removed. It will help with branding and getting customers quick.

There is many other ways to market on the Internet, we just wanted to go over the basics with you so you can get started on the path you feel is best.

Thanks for reading.
